May 31, 2022

Shopping for readers online can be tough, especially if you don't have a chance to try them on. That's why our Myspex style experts put together a Face Shape Guide to help you choose the perfect frames to compliment your features.

Find your face shape below and click on the corresponding Myspex readers that would look best on you.

Square-Shaped Faces

Best Frame Shapes: Round, Oval, Cat-Eye

Square-shaped faces have very strong features, from a wide forehead to a rectangular jaw line. Round, oval, and even cat-eye frames can help to soften these features. In addition, Rimless frames can help to soften square-shaped features.

Best Myspex Frames:

1. APEKS O

2. GEARLOCK

3. LAROSHE

4. SYGMA

Heart-Shaped Faces

Best Frame Shapes: Rectangle, Retro Square, Cat-Eye

Heart-shaped or triangle faces are very distinguishable, with a wide forehead and sharp, thin jawline. To balance the pointed chin, choose wide and up-swept frame shapes.

Best Myspex Frames:

1. HUXTYN

2. EMERYKS

3. LAROSHE

4. QUIMBY

5. TONG

Oval-Shaped Faces

Best Frame Shapes: Rectangle, Retro Square, Round

Oval-shaped faces are the most versatile and can pull off almost any frame shape. However, you must keep proportions in mind. Petite faces look great in rimless and half-rim, while longer faces look great in full frame.

Best Myspex Frames:

1. EMERYKS

2. GEARLOCK

3. HUXTYN

4. KULFAX

5. SHERMYN

Round-Shaped Faces

Best Frame Shapes: Rectangle, Retro Square

Round-shaped faces are free from harsh lines, so it’s a good idea to add dimension with your frames. Rectangle and angled frames will add dimension to soft features.

Best Myspex Frames:

1. EMERYKS

2. HUXTYN

3. MOD CHIC

4. OCTOLYST

5. TONG

Find Your Lens Strength

Find Your Lens Strength

MySpex readers are available in multiple lens strengths, from +1.00 to +3.00. Use this chart to find out what lens strength is appropriate for you.

Step 1

Print the chart below on a 8.5" x 11" paper. Be sure to print it out as is. Do not adjust it to 'Fit to Page' or change the zoom.

Find Your Lens Strength Chart

Step 2

Place the chart about 12-14 inches away from your face, or where you would normally hold a book or newspaper.

Step 3

With your glasses off, begin to read the lines from top down. The first line you have difficulty reading is your lens strength.

Some MySpex lenses are available in +0.25 increments. If your first difficult line is extremely blurry, consider choosing the strength in between.

The MySpex Promise

If you receive your glasses and they are not the appropriate lens strength, we will gladly exchange your readers within 12 months of your original purchase. Read more on our Warranty Page.
